Harry Lake

Chief Executive Officer

Harry Lake serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Koa Partners (Koa) and is responsible for the overall strategy of the privately-held firm. In this capacity, Mr. Lake leads a character-driven team focused on delivering real estate solutions to clients it is called to serve.

Prior to founding Koa, Mr. Lake was the Chief Investment Officer for Neal Richards Group (NRG) and was responsible for the investment strategy of the firm as it organically grew its diversified portfolio beyond $1 Billion in asset value. Mr. Lake oversaw acquisition, asset management, disposition, and capital market activities as the firm interfaced with individual and institutional stakeholders.

Prior to joining NRG, Mr. Lake served ten years with the Trammell Crow Company (TCC) and was the Principal responsible for the US acquisition strategy for the firm, a wholly owned development-and-investment subsidiary of CB Richard Ellis (CBRE). Mr. Lake led a central team to manage the investment of acquisition capital on behalf of TCC and its partners across 15 nationally distributed offices. Mr. Lake was also responsible for supporting the capital markets function within TCC in order to raise debt financing and deploy programmatic capital focused on commercial real estate development.
Mr. Lake has worked in the real estate investment industry since 1998 and honorably served six years in the Hawaii Army National Guard. Mr. Lake is a triple-major graduate from the University of Hawaii (UH) and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School (HBS).

Mr. Lake is active in the communities that he serves. He is active in the Urban Land Institute’s Redevelopment & Reuse Council (RRC), Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), The Real Estate Council (TREC), and the Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the American Red Cross Blood Services Board in Dallas as well as a graduate of the Associate Leadership Council (ALC), Leadership Dallas, and Leadership SoCal. Mr. Lake is a licensed broker in both California and Texas and is a LEED Accredited Professional focused on advancing sustainable real estate practices.

Jhevasse Mitchell


Jhevasse Mitchell serves as Executive Vice President at Koa Partners (Koa). In this capacity, Mr. Mitchell oversees the development and project management initiatives at the firm. With an extensive track record of project success, Mr. Mitchell builds high-performance teams to deliver quality solutions and mitigate risk while maintaining a bottom line focus.

Prior to joining Koa, Mr. Mitchell served as the Development Manager for Neal Richards Group (NRG), where he was responsible for overall project operations including design, construction, business development, financial management, and risk mitigation for a national healthcare portfolio totaling $192M in project value. Mr. Mitchell’s responsibilities also included hiring and managing design and construction personnel, overseeing the capital budget, meeting with project investors, and executing contract negotiations.

Prior to NRG, Mr. Mitchell spent five years as a Project Manager at Adolfson & Peterson Construction, a commercial construction firm in Dallas, TX. During that time, Mr. Mitchell successfully managed over $100M in construction projects and completed pre-construction/design on multiple institutional, healthcare, and office development projects.

Mr. Mitchell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. His certifications include LEED AP BD+C, OSHA 30 Hour, and SW3P, as well as formal training in Project Scheduling, Prolog 6.5, Project Crisis Management, ASHE Certifications, Mold Awareness and Moisture Control, Incident Investigation, and Storm Water Pollution Management.

Mr. Mitchell’s community activities include participation in The Texas Food Bank, The Stewpot, The American Red Cross, The Samaritan Inn Homeless Shelter, Samaritan’s Purse, Heart and Hammers Dallas, Clothe a Child, Meals on Wheels, and Bahamas Hurricane Relief.

Gary Ellis

Chief Financial Officer


Gary Ellis serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Koa Partners (Koa) and is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting for the privately-held firm.

Prior to joining Koa, Mr. Ellis was Chief Financial Officer at Neal Richards Group (NRG), and was responsible for all financial and accounting activities for the company. In this capacity, he managed all internal and external reporting, accounting, compliance, tax and treasury operations of the firm and its related entities.  Mr. Ellis also has experience in the Healthcare Services, Entertainment, Telecom and Green Energy industries.

Prior to joining NRG, Mr. Ellis was Chief Financial Officer for Allegiance Development and was responsible for the financial accounting for many multifamily and mixed used developments throughout Texas and Florida.

Mr. Ellis began his real estate career as Assistant Vice President of Management Services for Greystone Communities, a premier senior living developer and manager, where he was instrumental in building the Management Services Division.  Mr. Ellis brings over 20 years of experience in Real Estate Development and Construction Accounting for many types of developments including Healthcare, Multi-family, Senior Living, Hospitality and Retail and Commercial Products.

Mr. Ellis is a graduate from Texas Tech University and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance.

Mark Allyn


Mark Allyn serves as an Advisor at Koa Partners (Koa). In this capacity, Mr. Allyn provides strategic guidance for the organization with an emphasis on optimizing the capital markets component to the total real estate solutions provided by Koa.

Prior to joining Koa, Mr. Allyn served as Senior Managing Director, Capital Markets Group for Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Allyn managed the capital markets activities to support development and investment projects nationwide. He was responsible for institutional capital raising, structuring joint ventures, investor relations and acquisitions.

With over 40 years of financial market experience, Mr. Allyn brings extensive networking experience and in-depth knowledge of the capital markets. He has a proven ability to understand problems and develop solutions that will create value and take advantage of market opportunities for customers.

Mr. Allyn graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas, with honors. He also holds memberships with Urban Land Institute (ULI) and American Institute of Public Accountants.

Leander Johnson


Leander Johnson serves as Vice President of Brokerage and Investment at Koa Partners. In this capacity, Mr. Johnson oversees the strategic development and implementation of brokerage activities at the firm.

Prior to joining Koa Partners, he worked extensively as a landlord rep broker focusing on office transactions helping many large national tenants, owners, developers, and investors. His experiences include Design/Space planning, Micro/Macro market strategy, Creative deal structuring, Project/Construction Management, and Asset Management, which has enabled him to drive strategic financial and transactional results in excess of $80MM

Additionally, in prior roles he has experience working with Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) borrowers advising on matters such as loan workouts and modifications, assumptions, structured defeasance, lenders consents, and other complex issues.  He has developed strong relationships within the commercial real estate community by producing measurable bottom-line results with integrity.

He is a graduate of Texas Tech University, and has also completed additional coursework through the Harvard Business School (HBS) finance certificate program. Mr. Johnson is active in the commercial real community, serving on the Advisory Board of Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) DFW Chapter and the UrbanPlan Committee. He is the Co-chair of ULI NEXT and is active with The Real Estate Council (TREC). He serves on the board of Friends of Fair Park and was selected to be a part of NAIOP’s Developing Leaders National Forum. Leander was also appointed by the Mayor of Dallas, Eric Johnson, to serve as Chair of the South Dallas/Fair Park Opportunity Fund to help facilitate economic development projects in neighborhoods surrounding the South Dallas/Fair Park community.

Giovanny Martinez

Senior Associate, Development & Investment

Giovanny Martinez serves as an Associate, Development and Investment at Koa Partners. He is responsible for providing direct support to all real estate development projects and financial underwriting.

Prior to joining Koa, Giovanny attended the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Finance. Passionate about commercial real estate and connecting students with learning opportunities within the real estate industry, Giovanny became the president of the UT Dallas Real Estate Club. He led the coordination of several events, built key faculty and staff relations, and enhanced club’s presents and brand. He also served as an Outreach Coordinator for the UT Dallas’ Student Veterans of America Chapter.

Before going to UTD , Giovanny was responsible for the strategic positioning of key products and services for an AT&T authorized retailer. Giovanny led and couch a team to effectively qualify opportunities and establish rapport with clients. He was also responsible for hiring and managing personnel, overseeing appropriate merchandise and appearance of the store, monitoring and prioritizing workflow, and meeting sales quotas.

A Colombian emigrant, Giovanny moved to Texas from North Carolina after completing his active military term in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served 4 years and deployed twice with 1st Battalion 2nd Marine Division Sniper Platoon during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Giovanny’s community activities include coordinating the participation of student veterans in the trail cleanup for the wounded warriors prior to the Bush Center’s W100K, and the homeless veteran donation drive for the Veterans Resource Center of Dallas. He has also served the community by participating in The Texas Food Bank and The American Red Cross blood donation drives.

He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and The Real Estate Council (TREC).

Lisa Lake

Director, Koa Canopy

Lisa Lake serves as the Director at Koa Canopy, the philanthropic branch of our firm. She has a Master of Social Work from the University of Hawaii and has proudly devoted her career to veterans, elderly and social justice. Her education and skills enable her to develop dynamic outreach and partnership opportunities with the communities that Koa Partners is proud to serve. As a proud mother of two sons, she also loves to incorporate family friendly service opportunities for the entire Koa Partners team to get involved and making an impact on our community.
